Every act of kindness counts. Through fun quests and inclusivity activities, students are encouraged to appreciate others, reflect on their actions and better understand persons with disabilities. They learn to show empathy and make a positive difference in their school and community.
Recess Booth Activity 1 – Kindness Quests
Challenge students to complete acts of kindness by getting three in row – across, down or diagonally on their Kindness Quest card. Upon completing the challenge, students will receive a limited-edition Kindsville token as a reward for putting kindness into action. They can also pick up a Write to Singa card from the Kindsville booth to share their reflections, appreciation or ideas on how they can continue spreading kindness beyond the event.
Recess Booth Activity 2 – Thank-You Code
In this hands-on activity, students will be introduced to sign language and Braille, before decoding a hidden message and writing a heartfelt thank you note to someone they appreciate. The activity encourages students to develop empathy by experiencing alternative forms of communication, while fostering gratitude and kindness through a meaningful act of appreciation. Students will conclude the activity with a reflection how they felt and identify one way they can show kindness to persons with disabilities — taking a small but meaningful step towards building a more inclusive and compassionate school community.
To foster student ownership and leadership, schools are encouraged to nominate a team of student leaders to support the booth activities together with SKM team. Student leaders will help facilitate the activities, engage their peers and model kindness in action, creating a welcoming and inclusive experience for everyone.
Logistics Requirements:
- Ample space for booth setup and student movement
- Long tables required for activity stations
- Student volunteers/leaders required during recess time to assist with facilitation
Please note: Schools may select only one activity (either Kindness Quests or Thank-You Code). Both activities cannot be chosen simultaneously.
