1) Fostering Understanding for Racial Harmony

Sypnosis:

What Did You Say? is a 30-minute, whole-hall Racial Harmony experience designed specifically for Primary school audiences. Using approximately 10 minutes of filmed show together with TheatreSports, whole-hall physical-response games, guided student improvisation and a fast call-and-response finale, the programme turns students from spectators into active participants.

The story follows three classmates working on a group project. When two students repeatedly switch into a shared language, the third begins to feel left out. Later, hearing their own name followed by laughter leads them to assume they are being discussed.

Minimum number of students: 600 students
Cost: $1,150 (if you sign up for FOS 2027, the cost will be fully funded by SKM!)

In this engaging session, students will:

  • Explore what racial harmony means in a multicultural society like Singapore
  • Reflect on how words and actions can affect others
  • Recognise the impact of unconscious bias and exclusion
  • Practise standing up and speaking out with kindness and respect

Students will test possible responses live, rewinding choices that worsen the situation and discovering that while an assumption can be wrong, the experience of exclusion can still be real. The show concludes with a final message: always looking out for and supporting one another within our community.

2) Bringing Kindness to Life with The Morning Greeters

The Morning Greeters are a group of runners in Singapore who jog through parks every Sunday to spread kindness by greeting strangers with cheerful “good mornings,”.

Through engaging storytelling by The Morning Greeters themselves, students will explore:

  • How a cheerful “Good morning!” can brighten someone’s day
  • The power of eye contact, smiles and kind gestures
  • How small actions can grow a big culture of kindness
  • How students can become Morning Greeters in their own school by requesting a Morning Greeter Starter Pack from us. The starter pack includes a vest and Friends of Singa Morning Greeters iron-on patches for student leaders.

Perfect for encouraging everyday kindness in school, students will leave inspired to build a more connected and caring environment, one greeting at a time. This programme shows how small, friendly actions can make a big difference.

Minimum number of students: 300 students
Cost: Fully-funded for 2027 FOS Schools

Perfect tie-in with Friends of Singa!

If your students are taking part in this year’s Friends of Singa (FOS), which we hope all of you are, these talks are a great way to spark ideas and kickstart conversations around their FOS kindness projects, especially for projects focused on school culture, peer support, or inclusion.
